Hundreds of Almajiris in Kano on Thursday thanked the state Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his love and care throughout their stay in quarantine over the COVID-19 pandemic. They Almajiris were discharged from the Kano state Corporate Security Institute Gabasawa.

The Almajiris who were been taking back to their home state of Kebbi under the supervision of the Kano state ministry of Education, after their discharge from quarantine, expressed happiness that the Kano state government took absolute care of them while in isolation by providing them with quality accommodation and making sure they had clothing, medical care, regular food and other necessities of life throughout their stay in isolation.

Bidding the Almajiris farewell before their departure, Governor Ganduje, represented by the Kano State Commissioner for Education, Muhammed Sanusi Said Kiru, said he was happy that they all tested negative before going back to their home state of Kebbi.

During the short but colourful exit brief, the Commissioner distributed hundreds of face marks and other protective devices to all the Almajiris to ensure their personal protection and to equally guards against the possible contact of the disease.

In his remarks, a representative of the Almajiris, Mallam Maisalati expressed their appreciation to Governor Ganduje for treating them like his blood children, saying they felt at home throughout their stay.

They also thanked the State Government for taking the responsibility to transport them back to their state of origin free of charge, promising that when they return to their state of origin, they will cooperate with their state government to accept their integration in to the basic education.
