Nigeria says the 10 pirates who were arrested last Thursday for attacking a Chinese vessel MV HAILUFANG II, off the coast of Côte d’Ivoire would face the wrath of the Nigerian law.

The pirates had attacked the vessel, boarded it and directed the crew to towards Nigerian waters but were arrested by Nigerian Navy Special Forces.

Their trial in Nigeria was confirmed by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) stated in Lagos on Tuesday during the official handover of the pirates by the Nigerian Navy to the maritime agency for prosecution.
