Gombe state Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, says it is criminal for any parent to deny his child education in all forms both western and Islamic.
The governor stated this at the campground for the passing out of the 153 Almajirai who tested negative of the coronavirus.
“The leaders of the Ulamas are involved in the structure of managing Almajirai, Better Education Service Delivery for All in Gombe State. We are taking responsibility as their parents; we won’t allow anyone to destroy the future of these children using whatever means. We shall ensure they enjoy the rest of their lives.
“We shall not go complete until we bequeath a good future to these children,” the governor stated.
On his part, Dr Habu Dahiru, the state Commissioner for Education, said, “After discharging these set of 153 we will be left with 13 persons in the camp comprising 11 Almajirai and two travellers. The camp is managed by a team of one medical officer, three nurses, 17 Red Cross personnel, 10 cleaners, one public health officer, nine cooks, one data manager, one store manager and one Islamiya Mallam. All Almajirai on arrival after been profiled are classified according to clusters and are given lessons.”
