Edo state Governor has received a reprieve from the University of Ibadan over certificate scandal targeted at his ambition to remain as state governor through the September election.

It would be recalled that the opposition has alleged that the governor forged a university certificate to enable him gain access to political office.

But the University of Ibadan, in a statement Wednesday said Obaseki gained admission and graduated from the school in due time.

The statement signed by Mrs. Olubunmi O. Faluyi, the University’s Registrar said the Governor studied Classics in the school.

She said Obaseki gained admission to the University in 1976 and graduated in 1979 with a Second Class Honours, Lower Division, adding that records of his Admission and Graduation are intact in the archives of the University.
