As the scandal rocking the management of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, gets messier, the Executive Director (Projects) of NDDC Cairo Ojougboh, has alleged that emergency contracts worth N2 trillion were awarded to the chairmen of the National Assembly committees on the NDDC between 2016 and 2019.

He however failed to disclose whether or not the chairmen were of the 8th or 9th Assembly.

He made the allegations while speaking in an interview on Arise TV, saying both Senator Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila, the Senate President and Speaker of the House respectively, are not aware of the activities of their NDDC committees’ chairmen.

According to him, the majority of the members of the Senate and House committees on NDDC are also unaware of the development, describing the contract awarding process as a “one-man squad”.
