Another wave of corruption allegations has hit the Nigeria public, this time against the Managing Director of the North-East Development Commission, NEDC, Mohammed Alkali who is said to have squandered over 100 Billion released to the Commission within one year.

A group, Coalition of New Nigeria Transparency and Anti-Corruption (CNNTAC) which raised an alarm over the alleged corrupt practices and high-handedness in the recently established NEDC, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to intervene by launching a probe into NEDC.

They said that further delay will ruin the organization, according to a statement issued by the CNNTAC Secretary, Tijani Umar.

CNNTAC queried how about N100 billion disbursed to the commission barely one year ago was squandered without any significant impact on the refugees in the zone.
