The Federal Government has approved the deployment and redeployment of 40 permanent secretaries in what can be described as major shake-up of the nation’s civil service.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday this week swore-in 12 new permanent secretaries who were part of those that passed the screening conducted few week ago by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF).
In today’s move however, the newly sworn- permanent secretaries were deployed while other already manning some ministries were redeployed to other areas.
According to a circular dated August 28, 2020 (today), signed by the Head of Service of the Federation, HOSF, Dr. Mrs. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the deployment and re-deployment were approved by the President, adding that handing over processes should be completed as indicated for each of those affected by the exercise.
The circular, with reference no- HSCF/CMO/AOD/012/V.III/39 was copied to the Chief of Staff to the President, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Vice President, Minister/Ministers of State, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Clerk of the National Assembly, Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, permanent secretaries and many others.
