The Governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has approved the employment of sixty (60) Alarammas as Facilitators and Proprietors of the 15 Almajiri Integrated Schools in the state with immediate effect.

The approval was granted by the Governor following a correspondence submitted by the Kano State Qur’anic & Islamiyya Schools Management Board through the Hon. Commissioner of Education Mal. Muhammad Sanusi S. Kiru on Monday, 24th August, 2020.

A statement signed by the education commissioner said the employment has further demonstrated the genuine commitment of Governor Ganduje in eradicating the menace of street begging and uncoordinated establishment of Allo schools in the state without provision of basic facilities such as toilets, dormitories and an integrated Curriculum that would enable the Almajiri Children memorise the Holy Qur’an as well as get a basic education requirements in a decent and secured environment.

“With this development, the 60 Alarammas are to be posted to the three (3) new Almajiri Boarding Schools located at Bunkure, Kanwa in Madobi LG and Kiyawa in Bagwai Local Government in addition to the existing twelve (12) across the 44 LGAs,” the statement said.
