A Non-Governmental organization known as, Searchlight Initiative for Community Peace Advocacy and Rural Development in Nigeria has restructured its administrative command of Bauchi state, as disclosed by is Deputy Director General, Comrade Umar Nuru Waco.
He stated this on Monday during a meeting with stakeholders, noting that the move was aimed at repositioning the Organization in Bauchi to straighten conflict resolution and crime prevention.
Comrade Waco explained that his organization is partnering security agencies through intelligent gathering and making such information available to them to solidify community policing.
By so doing, the deputy director said it has helped a lot towards curbing incidences of rape, theft, thuggery and many other societal ills in communities.
“Any time we gather our information, we give to security in confidentiality in order not to expose the informant to attacks by the culprits”, Waco explained.
He said he has since assumption of office in June 2020, invested a lot of energy, time and resources to reposition the organization in Bauchi state.
“When I took over the mantle as DDG, Bauchi headquarters, I observed some administrative lapses in discharging official duties by some members. As a result of that, with the directives given to me from the above, I decided to make some adjustments”, he said.
While announcing the suspension of all officials of the organization in Bauchi state with immediate effect, he said six-member committee have been constituted that will strategise on how to move the organization forward.
He explained that Sani Sarki Yakubu, Mr Ishaq Adamu are to serve as Chairman and the secretary of the committee while Daniel Sambo, Aliyu Umar, Suwaiba Abdullahi and Charity David are to take charge as members respectively and went ahed to announce the appointment of Barr. Auwal Muhammed as his senior special assistant/spokesperson and Ibrahim Muhammad Isah as his personal assistant
