…Says Nnamdi Kanu will react

A ward leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, from Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, George Ndubuaku has accused the President-General of pan-Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo of plotting to break and factionalise IPOB, adding that the efforts would however be in vain.
He urged Ohaneze to concentrate on its mission which he said has no resemblance to what the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is pursuing..
George Ndubuaku who spoke exclusively to our correspondent in Owerri, Imo state Thursday, today, was reacting to a report published by a section of the media that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, held a meeting with the leadership of Ohaneze led Chief Nwodo.
According to the report, at the meeting said to have taken place on Wednesday, IPOB was represented by some of its principal officers led by Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu. The principal officers on behalf of IPOB, begged Nwodo to facilitate the lifting of the ban on IPOB by the federal government, the report added.
But George Ndubuaku told our correspondent that Chief Nwodo is walking a dirty road by trying to divide IPOB due to whatever reasons known to him, saying such attempts would end in vain and also hurt Nwodo’s reputation at the end.
He says- “The purported meeting between Ohaneze leaders and IPOB is a total waste of time by Nwodo and his leadership of Ohaneze. It must have been concocted by those seeking to break IPOB but it is a waste of time.
“There is nothing like principal officers of IPOB. We have only one leader. Our leader’s name is Mazi Nnamdi Kalu. Anybody visiting Nwodo or anybody for that matter in the name of IPOB is either an imposter seeking to get some money or must have been hired to pose as a counter force.
“But I like I said, such a person or persons do not have our leader’s blessings. We only take directives from our Supreme Leader. There is no other one. We don’t have principal officers.”
According to Ndubuaku, Chief Nwodo and Mazi Nnamdi Kalu are pursuing two different agenda that do not need to clash or lead to clandestine plots to divide IPOB.
“Our Supreme Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not dragging space or leadership with Chief Nwodo to warrant this sort of unnecessary move to break IPOB. And we know that the efforts to break IPOB would be in vain. Ohaneze is working to see that Ndigbo gets fair share from Nigeria but we know that Nigeria is not a fair country. So Ohaneze should continue with his negotiation for Igbo president. That’s not our leader’s headache.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is working to achieve a divine mandate to set the Igbo free from bondage and oppression through a peaceful process that would be approved by the United Nations and other relevant international bodies. So, let Nwodo pursue his mission and allow our Supreme Leader to pursue his own God’s given mission,” he said, adding that the IPOB leader will respond to the purported meeting.
“What I just said is my personal reaction which I know every one of the millions of our members across the world would agree with. I also know that our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will respond to this, that is if he finds it worthy of mentioning because the pillars of our foundation are stronger than you can imagine,” Ndubuaku concluded.
