Signs are emerging that the September governorship election in Edo state may be bloody as a clash between supporters of the All Progressives Congress APC, and those of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP led to the shooting of two people on Sunday.

The incident which happened at Igarra, headquarters of Akoko-Edo Local Government of Edo State was said to have started when the member representing Akoko-Edo II in the State House of Assembly, Hon Emma Agbaje, had addressed his supporters where he pledged his support for Ize-Iyamu.

Later in the night, an assailant, identified as Omoloju Atere was said to have gone and shot two persons, Oguma Ojo and Friday Yaya who are said to be supporters of Ize-Iyam.

The incident happened few days after Governor Obsaeki raised the alarm that the APC were planning to harass and intimidate his supporters ahead of the poll.
