Kogi state Governor’s act of kindness has attracted our attention and worth reporting on African Community News, CAN.

According to a story we are following on social media, the Governor, Yahaya Bello was being driven on the streets of Abuja when he spotted from the window, a woman with a tray of sugarcane on her head hawking.

Apart from the tray on her head, the woman had a baby strapped on her back and completely drenched following heavy rain.

The Governor was said to have asked his driver to stop, alighted from the car and engaged the woman in a dialogue after which he had the woman driven to his personal house in Abuja, where he handed her over to his wife and asked that she be rehabilitated and empowered to start a new life.

The woman, identified as Mrs. Theresa and her husband are said o live in Karshi, a suburb of Abuja and both of them have lost their means of livelihood due to covid-19 pandemic and its harsh economic outcome in Nigeria.

We at African Community News commend the governor for the act of kindness.
