Youths in Anambra have continued their protest against police brutality in the state and across the country. They also want the federal government to scrap the newly created unit codenamed SWAT.

Most of the protests in Anambra state, which have been peaceful are staged along the Enugu-Onitsha express road and often cause gridlock.

They accused the Police of brutality in the state and across all communities in the South East, saying the newly created outfit that replaced SARS was not welcomed as it would be a mere deployment of the same criminal elements in the Force.

Inscriptions on the placards seen with the protesters read, “SARS kill our Brothers and Sisters and Go Back to Their Own Families”, “Probe Awkuzu SARS Unit,” “wkuzu SARS Robbed Futures, Bring Them to Justice”, End SWAT Now, among others.
