Authorities in Kenya says both Governor Samuel ole Tunai and three other people in the chopper that crashed Saturday are safe
The Governor was reportedly heading to Olenkipejus village in Melili, Narok county for a burial ceremony of the late Paul Lepore who was the father to Julius ole Sasai, the finance county executive committee member in Tunai when the incident happened.
Minutes after the crash, a huge crowd gathered near the chopper but police officers arrived at the scene and took control of the situation.
Although the four were unhurt, they were however rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital for checkups but Governor Tunai told reporters he was safe and was being taken to Nairobi for further tests and treatment.
The chopper was said to have failed to take off after several attempts by the pilot and crashed-landed just 100 meters after departure.
