At least seven persons were killed on Sunday in Takulashe village, in the Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.

Local reports say the victims were members of the Civilian Joint Task Force and local hunters, who engaged Boko Haram insurgents that laid siege to the village.

The terrorists were said to have stormed Takulashe around 9am and broke into homes to steal foodstuffs and livestock but that the JTF and local hunters engaged the terrorists in a battle leading to loss of lives on both sides.

Some Boko Haram members were said to have died also in the battle that lasted more than an hour.
