The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has said it released the results of candidates from Kano the same November 2020 alongside that of other that sat for the exam.
The Council therefore said that there was no iota of truth in an online report which alleged that the results of candidates from Kano State were being withheld as a result of indebtedness of the State Government to the Council.
According to a statement Wednesday signed Demianus Ojijeogu, acting Head, Public Affairs of WAEC- “The Kano State Government is not in any way indebted to the Council. The results of candidates from the State were never, and are not, being withheld as alleged.
”The West African Examinations Council, therefore, urged the Kano State Government, schools and candidates, parents, and other stakeholders in Kano State to please ignore the publication.”
The Council also urged the media to always balance their stories and cross-check their facts before publishing them.
