The Governor of Benue State of Nigeria, Samuel Ortom on Sunday thanked God for saving his life from those who attempted to assassinate him at his farm on Gboko/Makurdi road.
Ortom who was attached alongside nine of his aides, narrated this at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Signs and Wonders Mega Parish, Makurdi where he attended a thanksgiving service over the incident.
He had earlier on Saturday some Fulani bandits numbering about 15 shot at him and the aides but he had to run on foot for 1.5 kilometres to escape the attack.
Leading some of his council members, the governor thanked and praised God for saving his life from the hands of the armed herders.
He called on Nigerians with good conscience to save the country from drifting into anarchy and lawlessness, wondering why a certain ethnic group in the country would be shielded and allowed to use its militia arm, to wreak havoc on perceived enemies.
