Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has expressed his administration’s resolve to construct Itas Gadau road in order to ease the transportation hardship of the people of the area.
Bala made this known in Mashema town of Itas Gadau local government area of the state yesterday during his ongoing projects inspection tour.
The Governor who was at one of the projects side of an ongoing construction of a model primary school said the model primary school was the third of its kind in the entire state.
He said he will next week invite one of his colleagues from the southwest part of the country to perform the ground breaking ceremony of the road project.
Bala who noted that the biggest problem militating against the development of Itas Gadau is the river Jamaare that divided Gadau from Itas, said his administration has always look for something that is cancerous with a view to providing a lasting solution.
“And this road is cancerous and we are going to build it by the grace of God. By next week we are inviting a governor from the south west to come and commission the building of Itas Gadau road”, the Governor said.
According to him, the road which is going to be the most expensive one is expected to cover 9 kilometres of swamp and about 3 major bridges with a lot of culverts.
