Civil servants in Kaduna State are currently in panic mode as the administration of Governor Nasir El-Rufai begins sack of local government workers.
On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, 82 workers of Jema’a Local Government Area of the state, broke down in tears at the Council’s Secretariat in Kafanchan when they were served with letters of disengagement from the Kaduna State Government.
The sack, which has started with Kafanchan Local Government, according to our sources would cut across all the councils in the state and is expected to affect over 2,000 workers.
The exercise is said to be consequent upon speculations over the past one month that the state government was planning to downsize its workforce across the its 23 Local Government Areas.
The government is said to have claimed that downsizing the workforce is part of its planned restructuring of the Local Governments in the state to reposition them for efficient service.
