A veteran broadcaster, Balarabe Shehu Ilelah has been appointed by President Muhhamadu Buhari as the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

This was announced Friday by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Ilelah replaces Prof. Armstrong Idachaba who was appointed the Acting DG of the Commission in February 2020, following the sack of Moddibo Kawu from the Commission.

A statement by the Special Assistant To The President (Media), Office of the Minister of Information and Culture, Segun Adeyemi, said Mr. Ilelah’s appointment is for a tenure of five years in the first instance.
