The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu is in high spirit, according to his legal team which met with him today at a detention facility in Abuja.
The meeting took place today, 5 August, at the Headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) Headquarters.
Lead lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor who spoke on behalf of the team said- “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is strong in his convictions, and very much high in spirit. He extended his best compliments and wishes to millions of his supporters.”
Ejiofor also disclosed that the seccessionist leader requested for prayers from his followers and well-wishers, adding that the content of their discussion would remain private since they bordered on “professional services.”
Today’s meeting is the second since an Abuja High Court granted their request for frequent visits.
The Biafran agitator is facing 10 charges, including treasonable felony which carries death sentence or life imprisonment. Kanu and his Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement are accused of attempting to overthrow the government of Nigeria.
