The remains of late Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa would be buried on New Year day, January 1,2022.

Tuti, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who helped end apartheid in the country, died on Sunday December 26, aged 90.

His body arrived at St George’s Cathedral in Cape Town where it is lying in state and to be there for two days, to enable mourners to file past his body and say their final goodbyes.

On Thursday night, priests burnt incense as Tutu’s simple wooden coffin was carried into the cathedral while his widow Leah, walked slowly behind as the coffin entered his former parish.
